Local clubs

Plenty of them, read any magazine or go on the web and there are hundreds, the trick is finding the right one, you could spend a couple of hundred quid on membership and never go out. Certain clubs use greenlaning as a kind of "lost leader" to attrach you to a club but in reality want you to go trailing or your company on visits to national shows. They might contain members who have been laning in the past but will they be willing to take you if they go out again.

Look at the web site and see what they have done in the last 12 months, a club which goes out a lot often has a photo album with dates of where and when they have been. Another good sign is those who have an open forum, might be small but active. Then see what they plan to do and where they are going, many clubs have a policy of camping over the bank holidays join just before. Watch out for the one page web sites those which say we are here, contact us, we go greenlaning. They often take your money and never do anything. If you make an approach ask the right questions.

Most charge between £15-£30 but watch out for those hidden extra charges for you partner children etc. Some charge for club organised green lane days.

Its a repeat common question I get asked all the time which one to join so been a member of a few i'll comment course can only do on those i know in the North West and North Wales Area
